1. Collecting and storing twitter data:

The data collecting admin is the part which is responsible for collecting large amount of data from twitter. The collected data then is used as seed for different statistics and processing activities. We used the standard Twitter APIs (streaming APIs and REST APIs) in collecting and storing activates. Data retrieval admin has been built as dynamic as possible so we can collect tweets based on a specific keywords, hashtags, users or event.

2. Reporting:

The reporting part is a complete web tool which provides insight to different statistics and information in a form of visual reports which can be gathered from the collected tweets:

  • Tweets time line report which shows the volume of tweets per unit of time and the peek time which contain a huge number of tweets.
  • Languages and sources report which show statistics about the source of tweets (from pc, mobile etc…) and a statistics about the languages of the tweets (Arabic, English, etc…).
  • Content statistics report which shows statistics about the content of the tweets (text, images, videos etc…).
  • Hashtags statistics report which shows statistics about the number of hashtags within the tweets.
  • Top terms report which shows statistics about the top terms and hashtags within the tweets.
  • Top users report which show a statistics about the top contributors and the top followed users.
  • Latest tweets report which shows statistics about the latest tweets tweeted by users.

3. Monitoring:

The Monitoring part is a complete web tool which enables the user to monitor specific actions, events, keywords, hashtags and users, by building his alert criteria according to his needs.

4. Hashtag life cycle:

The hashtag life cycle reports gives the user the ability to monitor and track the history and statistics information of a specific hashtag.

5. Trending:

The trending reports give the user the ability to monitor top trends not only for one day as Twitter provide but also for a previous time interval by using the huge amount of data we maintain on our storage systems.

6. Sentiment Analysis:

In the sentiment analysis section, users can get the sentiment of the people with respect to a specific topic and classify it into three main group (positive, negative and neutral). The classification process can be obtain from three main tabs which differ from each of other by the technology used in the classification, Zarqa Al Yamama uses three main ways to classify tweets based on their sentiment as follow:

iHorizons announces the availability of Zaraqa Al Yamama, its Arabic social media analytics platform. This new product, which was developed with support from Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), enables organizations in various industries to retrieve, store and analyze large amounts of social media content, with the objective of understanding public sentiments and recognizing social trends, and how they influence the organizations strategies.
