Ministry of Endowment, Qatar partners with iHorizons and Google to launch an AI-powered system for real-time Friday sermon translation and summarization

Since 2025, the Ministry of Endowment in Qatar has partnered with iHorizons and Google to pioneer a groundbreaking initiative that leverages artificial intelligence to deliver real-time translation and summarization of Friday sermons.

The system marks a major milestone in the Ministry’s vision of promoting inclusivity, enabling non-Arabic speaking worshippers to access and understand the spiritual and educational messages of the sermons. iHorizons, as the lead technology partner, has designed and developed the platform by integrating cutting-edge AI technologies in speech recognition, natural language processing, and real-time translation.

In its first release, the system offers live streaming of sermons with English translation and automatic sermon summarization. Future releases will extend the solution with additional features such as multi-language support, sermon archiving, advanced search, and interactive access through mobile apps and wearable devices.

Through this project, iHorizons demonstrates its ability to deliver impactful digital transformation initiatives in the religious and cultural domain, working closely with leading institutions to harness technology for societal benefit.
